On-Site in Smithfield, Utah: Training with a CM2400 Insulation Blower and Wall Spray Cellulose
The CM2400 with Cool Machines’ new offering of the Hopper Extension Vacuum Hood makes for a perfect start-up wall spray, recycle option. Kayden and Ryan of Leading Edge in Smithfield, Utah contacted us for the perfect set-up for an upstart insulation business. We made this recommendation.
The CM2400 with a 5 horsepower positive displacement blower allows them to have excellent air flow. They can go long distances for large attics. They also have a great blower to provide consistency when blowing. This airflow consistency helps with wall spray cellulose.
Along with the blower, they purchased a vacuum. The stand-alone CoollVac23 allows them to use it for standard attic extractions. When they are doing wall spray, they can use this vacuum to recycle back to the CM2400 with the specially designed Hopper Extension with Vacuum Hood.
Leading Edge already has a spray foam rig. They sprayed 2” of foam into the cavity. We showed them how to add wall spray cellulose on top of the spray foam. This is a nice option for homeowners to get the absolute solid air-sealing properties of foam, while having the cellulose provide further thermal value and sound protection. Wall spray cellulose will stick to the spray foam.
After dialing in the machine and tweaking the pressure settings, the only obstacle to this process is making sure that the damp recycle and the dry material are being “layered” into the blowing machine to get the best, consistent wall spray possible.
