Greener alternatives to spray foam insulation
Insulation is a crucial part of green building, because it’s key to reducing the energy usage of a structure. This serves both the immediate owner by lowering energy costs and the greater environmental goal of reducing greenhouse gasses. Spray polyurethane foam has been shown to be one of the most efficient insulators on the market and is regularly used in buildings that want to achieve low energy needs. Yet a growing number of green builders are embracing other insulation options and turning away from spray foam. http://www.treehugger.com/green-architecture/greener-alternatives-spray-foam-insulation.html
Five signs you need to insulate your home
The average family spends more than $1000 annually — nearly half a home’s total energy bill — on heating and cooling costs, according to the U.S. government’s Energy Star program. Unfortunately, a large portion of those expenses are wasted due to poor home insulation. http://www.eagletribune.com/local/x934952088/Five-signs-you-need-to-insulate-your-home

Investigate Ohio ‘Weatherization’
When Congress approved President Barack Obama’s $787 billion “stimulus” package in 2009, we warned it would be an open invitation to fraud and waste. State “weatherization” programs would be prime targets, we suggested. We were right, as revelations of waste and fraud in weatherization projects in several states confirm. http://www.theintelligencer.net/page/content.detail/id/590459/Investigate-Ohio–Weatherization-.html?nav=511

CCOA Weatherization helps seniors make their homes more energy-efficient
Our normal Weatherization program is funded by sources that include the Department of Energy and the Department of Health and Welfare, as well as independent funding from Idaho Power. These funding sources allow us the opportunity to make peoples homes more energy-efficient with no cost to the client. Some of these funding sources are, however, government sources. That poses issues when we go into homes and there are clearly measures that need to be taken, but the funding will not cover the costs. http://www.idahopress.com/extra/seniors/ccoa-weatherization-helps-seniors-make-their-homes-more-energy-efficient/article_c2f9ca58-2e17-11e3-aecf-001a4bcf887a.html
