Trailering Your Insulation Machine – Choosing the Right Trailer Size
One of the advantages of the Cool Machine brand is the footprint of the machines. With a standard trailer or truck bed, you are able to load a pallet of material without moving your machine. Without sacrificing hopper size, the Cool Machine is designed to be more narrow with more length.
Notice how our CM2400 allows for a pallet of material to be loaded EVEN with a hose reel. The yellow spot shows the generous space for both loading the trailer AND loading the machine with material.
The output of the machines are toward the rear. There is no hose trip hazard.
The trailer we have used for years is just a 7′ x 14′ trailer. It carries the CM2400 well. With For illustration purposes, the trailer below is a dual axle, 16′ long enclosed trailer. The interior dimensions are:
- 6 ‘ 8″ wide
- 14′ 7″ long
- 6′ 9″ high
Weight Capacity for this Trailer
- Tongue weight = 226 pounds. Well below the 600 pound rating. Even with material loaded, you may not need an equalizing hitch system. ALWAYS check tongue weight.
- Trailer Weight = 2,275 pounds
- Cargo Capacity = 4,725 pounds
- At a total capacity (GVW) of 7,000 pounds, this is 1/2 ton Truck towable!
Cellulose Trailering Capacity with CM2400 & Hose Reel
- 150+ bags of Green Fiber cellulose (22 lb bag) = 3,300 pounds
- CM2400 weight = 600 pounds
- TOTAL = 3,900 pounds (895 pounds below cargo capacity)
Fiberglass Trailering Capacity with CM2400 & Hose Reel
- 75 bags of Knauf Jet Stream fiberglass (32 lb bag) = 2,400 pounds
- CM2400 weight = 600 pounds
- TOTAL = 3,000 pounds (1,725 pounds below cargo capacity)
PLEASE NOTE: Always check the capacity of your trailer. While we are using common industry specs, do not make assumptions about your trailer’s GVW and cargo capacity. ALWAYS check your trailer’s information.
