Helping Insulation Companies Start, Build and Grow
Since I (Barry) was 11 years old, I began loading insulation hoppers with my dad and uncle. As my younger brothers joined us in the field, they loaded while I blew the attics. We remember unloading the semi trucks filled with hundreds of heavy, large Kraft bags of cellulose. We loaded them into a large barn and were exhausted… that is, until the bags in the barn were stacked, somehow we mustered the energy to make and play in the tunnels 😀 Those days bring back fond memories of our family working together.
Fast forward to the 2000s. My dad and I worked together, insulating over 250 homes a year. We had a large group of builders. In 2003, I built a website for the company. At first, it was just to keep up with the times. However, what we did not realize was that Michigan was fast becoming one of the worst economies in the US. Occasionally, my dad would call and tell me that there was no work for the day. I was surprised. We worked, steadily, 5 days a week and never had “no work.” Builders, construction companies, large insulation companies, dry-wallers, plumbers… many trades around us were closing up due to “no work.”
It finally caught up with us. There was not enough work for two families. Our company website kept things trickling in, but not enough. It was at that time that I made a decision to work on my own website and go into website development.
Through that experience, I learned how to gain website traffic and started to pick up a significant amount of clientele. We connected with Cool Machines and have been with them since 2009.
There was no way, in 1975, that I could imagine the world of the internet and it’s power to help insulation companies. I am no longer in the attics of my customers, but the attics of my customers customers! We are committed to providing the right equipment, providing training if needed and after-the-sale support in many ways!
