Upgrades Available for Your CM2400 Insulation Blower
The CM2400 is our most popular commercial-series blowing machine. It comes standard with a 12” airlock and two 13 amp blowers. That combination will allow you to quickly insulate residential homes and get a foot-in-the door with commercial buildings. If you are considering to upgrade your CM2400, here are some key upgrades. Some are very easy and require minimal mechanical know-how.
Add a Hopper Extension to Double Hopper Capacity: Skill Level EASY
The CM2400 has 11 cubic feet of hopper capacity. That means you can load 3 bales of cellulose into the unit. With a hopper extension, you are able to increase that to 6 bales. This is especially helpful if you are dense packing and need your hopper loader to be able to leave the machine from time-to-time. If you work alone, and some contractors do, this allows you to minimize those costly, time-wasting trips back to the machine.
Upgrade Your 12” Airlock to a 16” Airlock to Increase Production by 65%: Skill Level EASY
If you are looking for greater production, then this is the first upgrade to make! The difference in 4” of airlock is 65% greater production capabilities. AND, this upgrade is easy to do. It involves loosening up the drive chain and unbolting four bolts. The 12” airlock will drop out and you simply replace it with the 16” airlock assembly. That’s all!
Add an Airlock Gauge: Skill Level EASY to MODERATE
Our first-generation CM2400s lacked an airlock gauge. The gauge is very helpful for setting up your machine to the exact pressure needed for dense packing. Also, the gauge will give you the fast ability to determine if the airlock seals need to be replaced. If you are unable to achieve 3.5 PSI, it is time to replace the seals. Replace Your Blowers with a 5 horse-power PD Blower: Skill Level MODERATE
The CM2400 comes standard with two blowers. These are 13amp fan blowers. The PD (stands for positive displacement) blower is not a fan. It is a pump. The advantage of a pump blower is that it prevents back pressure leaking which occurs around the fan blades. For those in the wall spray and glue spray industry, this advantage is huge. The blower still provides variable pressure, but the amount of air will allow the sprayer to go hundreds of feet from the machine with excellent pressure. The soft-start on this blower will prevent start-up spurts that a wall/glue spray contractor fears! To make this upgrade, you will need some moderate mechanical skills. If you are close to the factory, then we will gladly make this upgrade for you. However, if you have moderate mechanical skills, the pictures and diagrams we provide will help you with this upgrade. So, what is involved? You will need to install a new panel box. You can return your old panel box and receive a refund. Also, you will wire a soft start to the rear of the machine. The blower is preinstalled (bolted down and piped) into a frame assembly. The greatest difficulty with installing this blower with frame assembly is the weight–350 lbs.
